Cabinet bookcase

Cabinet bookcase, scroll saw fretwork pattern

This is a really spectacular cabinet bookcase. It has two shelves for books or other objects and two cabinets with doors on the sides. It is beautifully ornamented with floral motifs in Victorian style. The doors of the cabinets need to be decorated with two round mirrors or with decorative prints. The construction is simple, the size of all pieces has been limited so that they can be made with an 18 inches scroll saw. The rear piece should be reinforced with a strong frame, which will be also used to hang the cabinet in the wall. This is a really special work that will call the attention wherever it is displayed. The pattern is based in an old English design from the beginning of the XX century that I have entirely reconstructed in the computer.

The pattern has been designed to use 3/16 or 1/4 inches wood or 5 or 6 mm wood. By scaling the pattern appropriately any other wood widths can also be used. These are the measures of the stool depending on the wood width you use:

  Height Width Depth
3/16 in. wood 25,4 in. 27,3 in. 6,2 in.
1/4 in. wood 33,8 in. 36,4 in. 8,3 in.
5 mm. wood 61,3 cm. 65,9 cm. 15 cm.
6 mm. wood 73,5 cm. 79 cm. 18 cm.
