The dragons table center

This is a very original table center based in an old Italian design that I have reconstructed and restored entirely. The base is formed by three dragons that hold a six sided fretworked basket ornamented with floral motifs. In the center of the basket there is a structure originally designed for a narrow vase or a couple of dry flowers.

The sides of the basket do not include tabs, their beveling angles are precisely calculated and their exact position in the floor of the basket is indicated in the patterns so that they can be mounted with precision. The old original pattern suggested the use of threads to fix these sides.

These two pictures have been kindly sent by Oleg Velesjuk from Kaliningrad, Russia.

The table center is designed to be made preferably with 1/4 inches wood or with 6 mm. wood, but of course other wood thickness can be used scaling the pattern. The following table gives the measures of the clock depending on the wood width you use:

  total height basket width
1/4 in. wood 15,5 in. 13,1 in.
6 mm. wood 37,2 cm. 31,5 cm.
3/16 in. wood 11,6 in. 8,9 in.
5 mm. wood 31 cm. 26,2 cm.

Please note that this pattern is registered and copyrighted. If you would like to have it I offer it for 9 € plus shipping. The pattern is computer made, which provides total precision, and nicely printed for convenient scrolling. Click here to buy this pattern. Write me to info@finescrollsaw.com for any questions.
