Louis XVI clock

Louis XVI clock, scroll saw fretwork pattern of a clock in Louis XVI style

This is a truly amazing clock in Louis XVI style. It is lavishly ornamented with different motifs. The clock is held by four dragons in the corners. The box of the clock is decorated with many floral motifs and a pair of columns. The clock is crowned by a decorative vase. In the original pattern this vase was just a flat piece. To make the design richer I have made it three dimensional with several pieces around the main one. The pattern is based in an old French design from the beginning of the XX century that I have entirely reconstructed in the computer.

The pattern has been designed to use 3/16  inches wood or 5 mm wood. By scaling the pattern appropriately any other wood widths can also be used. These are the measures of the clock depending on the wood width you use:

  Height Width Depth
3/16 in. wood 20,4 in. 12,2 in. 8,2 in.
1/4 in. wood 27,2 in. 16,3 in. 11 in.
5 mm. wood 54,4 cm. 32,5 cm. 21,8 cm.
6 mm. wood 65,3 cm. 39 cm. 26,1 cm.
8 mm. wood 87 cm. 52 cm. 34,8 cm.
